Welcome to Word Christian Academy's 2013-2014 school year!
Word Christian Academy (WCA) is the educational outreach ministry of our church, Revealed Word Christian Center, a non-profit, non-denominational organization.
Our vision is to train up children in the Word of God - the power that will transform their spirit, soul, and body to excel in every area of their lives. Of course, as educators, we are committed to the development of our students not only in academic excellence, but, wholeness of life - spiritually, physically, and psychologically.
WCA offers classes from Kindergarten through Grade 8. We use a Bible-based curriculum for the lower Kindergarten class through Grade 4. A computer curriculum is employed in Grades 5 through Grade 8 for the five core subjects, which are Bible, Language, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Also part of the curriculum are Spanish, Music, Art, Writing, Computer, Home Economics, and Gym.
In addition to the online curriculum for the above-mentioned core subjects, our teachers also give assignments from other curricula, for example, ACSI, McGraw-Hill and Prentice Hall.
You may say, "this is a full plate", but, our experience suggests all children, with Godly encouragement, have the capacity and the ability to do the assigned work.
To measure the progress of our students, each year the Stanford/Terra Nova Achievement Test is administered to the Advanced Kindergarten class through Grade 8, and students in Grades 4 and 7 are given the New York State English Language Arts and Math examinations.
To help "at-risk" students maximize their potential, all our teachers selflessly make themselves available to tutor.
As educators, in our attempt to assist in the development of our future leaders, we partner with our parents as we hold fast to John 14:12 where Jesus declares - "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
As we endeavor to maintain God’s vision for Word Christian Academy, and know that we have been given the authority, by Father God, to take our place to pray and firmly state God's perfect will be done in the lives of each family represented by our students.
As you consider the academic and social needs of your child, we urge you to seek God’s guidance in making this very important decision.
Feel free to call our school's office should you have any questions.
